Jan Semba is creator and facilitator of strategic coaching and performance improvement programs for business professionals, family businesses, and organizations.

He has worked with clients in over seventy different industries, in both the for profit and non profit sectors, and focuses on generating measurable results by integrating business metrics with individual and team satisfaction through action learning.

Jan collaborates with clients to define and re-define strategy, and advises in governance, succession planning, talent management, developing high performance teams, and leadership development.

This work often takes the form of facilitating high impact retreats and planning sessions resulting in detailed roadmaps that form the framework for coaching business teams and team leaders to high ROI execution – 100% to 1000%+ quantifiable ROI.

He is a successful entrepreneur; and has over 25 years experience including executive and senior management positions in the Fortune 500 and in small and family owned companies.

​Jan’s down-to-earth approach has developed through operational seasoning with companies in manufacturing, technology, finance, construction, and real estate serving the industrial, government, and consumer markets.

​His experience includes the dynamics of start-up, expansion, and retrenchment in both entrepreneurial and established businesses. He has helped companies double revenue, increase profit margins, reduce employee turnover, increase throughput, and focus on critical productivity issues.

Direct responsibilities have included all aspects of business development and business management including the successful introduction of new products and technologies, the turnaround of unprofitable businesses, leading and motivating sales organizations, as well as the successful implementation of strategies on a regional and national level.

Jan understands “how”… How people, business families, organizations, and business systems work.

And, how to manage the intersection of human dynamics and financial/business goals.

He is quick to “get it”, and “figure it out”.

​For the past 30 years Jan has played and coached soccer competitively both in the United States and abroad. He holds an Advanced National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and has worked with men’s and women’s teams at the youth, Olympic Development, collegiate, and adult club level. Jan has run marathons, competed in triathlons, and spends much of the Maine winter alpine skiing. With his colleague, Michel Daigle, Jan co-created and facilitates the on-mountain experiential workshop – “Lessons From the Snow.

Jan is a bi-racial, bilingual, first generation US citizen – son of a refugee mother and immigrant father. He has three adult children, including one who is transgender, non-binary.
